Display and Processor
The Moto E comes with a 4.3 inch IPS LCD display. Along with a qHD resolution of 960X540 pixels, the pixel density of the display comes out to be around 256 ppi, which is outstanding for this price range. Users can thus expect a crisp and clear display, with decent viewing angles. In comparison, Galaxy S Duos 2 is fitted with a 4 inch display with WVGA resolution of 480 x 800 pixels resulting in a pixel density of 233 pixels per inch. While there isn’t much difference in the pixel densities of the two devices, Moto E does offer a somewhat better display.
The Moto E comes with a 1.2 GHz dual core Snapdragon 200 chipset with an Adreno 302 GPU. Complementing this chipset is 1 GB RAM, and users can expect decent performance. The Galaxy S Duos 2 is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core Cortex A9 CPU coupled with 768 MB of RAM. The device is good for day-to-day usage and even proves itself good for gaming, but the lack of greater internal memory may hurt while multitasking.
Camera and Internal Storage
To offer a low priced product to consumers, Motorola had to cut costs in some departments, and unfortunately it’s the Camera division which has suffered the most. The front camera is a 5 MP camera much like Moto G and we can expect the same picture quality from the lens. However, noticeably absent from the hardware specs sheet are a front facing camera and a LED flash, which will disappoint those users who click a lot of selfies or those who would need to click Photos in low light surroundings.
Both devices have 4 GB internal storage, which might seem low to prospective buyers. To overcome this limitations, both devices offer a microSD card slot on the device body, which which allow users to use expandable memory of upto 32 GB in the case of the Moto E, and up to 64 GB for the Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2.
Battery and Features
The battery which come comes with the Moto E is a 1980 mAh Lithium-ion unit. Motorola has promised that the device will be good for 24 hours of normal day-to-day usage. The Galaxy S Duos 2 comes with a 1500 mAh battery with a stand by time of 280 hours and talk time of 8 hours. Presence of a smaller battery implies that under ideal conditions, the Moto E’s battery should last much longer than the Duos 2’s cell.
The new Motorola Moto E has been launched with Android 4.4 KitKat and users can expect regular Android updates from Motorola. The Galaxy S Duos 2 comes with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and Samsung’s Touchwiz interface pre installed on the device. Both devices provide basic software features and all the necessary connectivity aspects such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G etc, along with dual SIM functionality.

Price and Conclusion
Moto E has been launched at a very competitive price of Rs.6999. At this price range, it proves itself to be a first-rate buy. Lack of LED flash and a front can may turn off some prospective buyers, but this number is expected to be small. Given it’s superior display, lower price and bigger battery the Moto E promises to be a better buy than the Duos 2 priced at Rs.8639 especially as there is not much difference between the chipsets used in these devices. Moreover, Motorola has already established itself as a manufacturer which provides outstanding fluidity on its devices as a result of a near-perfect sync between the device’s software and hardware, and this will further attract users towards the Moto E.
