Review – Blackberry Z3 – Price, Specs, Battery life and Camera

Blackberry has fallen out of consumer graces lately. The company barely manages to make a dent in the mobile market, and this is mostly due to unattractive phone designs and a generally unpopular OS. However, things might be changing for the better as the Blackberry Z3 is releasing globally this month. This is the first Blackberry phone we like visually in a long, long time, and if the smartphone manages to perform well too, we might just see the company make a much needed come-back.

Blackberry Z3

BlackBerry tried to achieve the success they’ve had previous years on the mobile market with the BlackBerry Z30, and even though some of their remaining fans loved it, the lack of applications and the current hegemony of the iPhone 5 and the Samsung Galaxy line lead the company to over 2.5 billion pounds in losses just for the final quarter of 2013.

The entry level BlackBerry Z3
Planning to aim at the emerging markets, the company is rumored to present a new phone in partnership with a Chinese smartphone manufacturer Foxconn at the Mobile World Congress 2014. Although, the current information available for the BlackBerry Z3 is supposed leaks about the specifications, the price and even the design of the smart device, the speculation is backed up by quotes of the new CEO of the company, who stated that a BlackBerry Z3 aimed at the emerging markets can actually be the breath of fresh air the company so desperately needs.

Specifications
According to the leak, the BlackBerry Z3 will include a 5-inch LCD display with maximum resolution of about 960 x 540 pixels. It is also rumored to come with 8 GB of internal memory and 1.5GB of RAM. Although the leak revealed nothing about the possibility of a graphics processor or a possible chipset, it stated that the smartphone will have a dual core 1.2GHz. The smart device is said to come with pre-installed BlackBerry 10.2 OS giving the phone the same problem as its predecessor the Z30 the same lack of applications problem.

Camera & Battery Life
The BlackBerry Z3 will feature both rear and a front camera. According to the leaks, the rear camera will be a 5MP one, but details about the lens and possible photo and video quality haven’t been revealed. The front camera will be a 1.1 MP one, which may not be much, but should be enough for decent video conferencing quality. The smartphone will be backed up by a 2650 mAh battery that should give the BlackBerry Z3 proper battery life as well.

The BlackBerry Z3 Price & Release Date
The specifications of the phone may not seem as much compared to the biggest smartphones currently on the market, but having in mind that the BlackBerry Z3 is rumored to come at a low price of just $150 it may just be the best entry-level smart device for its price range.
