Motorola has revealed that it has managed to sell 2,85,000 units of the Moto E in India via its online retail partner Flipkart. The company revealed this bit of information a Facebook post.
The Moto E since launch has been a runaway success and it went out of stock within the first 16 hours of its availability and then again repeatedly was unavailable when Flipkart replenished its stocks.
The lure of a high quality low cost smartphone from a big ticket brand like Motorola has proven to be very tempting for users. The phone promised a high quality user experience at its affordable price of Rs.6,999 and largely fulfilled this promise.
In terms of specs, it does not delight, but has all the essentials in place. It packs a 4.3-inch qHD LCD display, a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 CPU clocked at 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM, a 5-megapixel fixed focus camera, 4GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, and a 1,980-mAh battery. It runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat, which is also the latest version of Android.
Even in our testing we found it to be a competent device. Ever since its launch new contenders have sprung up from local vendors like Micromax, Alcatel and Lava, but still it's holding its own.
The phone is currently in stock and can be bought exclusively off Flipkart.
