DROID Turbo May Get a Global Launch as the Moto Maxx

The DROID Turbo is a Verizon exclusive, but we may have some good news for everyone else lusting after the new phone’s killer specs. Motorola has another event scheduled for early next month and it looks like the Turbo could get a global launch as well.

According to a press invitation obtained by Tecnoblog, Motorola is planning an upcoming announcement for November 5 in Brazil. The leak doesn’t mention a specific phone by name, but it does show a device with the same Ballistic Nylon back panel featured on the DROID Turbo. Rumor has it the new variant could be called the Moto Maxx as a reference to the phone’s massive battery.

Hopefully the Moto Maxx won’t be limited to Brazil, and if it supports GSM networks it should also work in Europe. It’s unlikely we’ll see it on T-Mobile or AT&T, however, since these devices are typically exclusive to Verizon. Based on the DROID Turbo we already know what to expect in the hardware department, including a 5.2-inch QHD display, a Snapdragon 805 processor, a 3900mAh battery, a 21-megapixel camera, 3GB of RAM and 32/64GB of storage. It also runs Android 4.4 out of the box with the promise of an upgrade to 5.0 Lollipop down the line.
