Dubai Traffic Police have started using Google Glass to monitor traffic violations on the emirate’s roads, according to Lt Col Saif Al Mazrouie, Director-General of Dubai Traffic Police.
He pointed out that these glasses are being used for the first time in the region.
It allows policemen to take pictures of traffic violators with the camera on the side of the glasses. These images are then sent to Dubai Police through a special system.
Google Glass will also recognise wanted vehicles on the roads.
A policeman has to only look at the number plate of a vehicle on the road and automatically Google Glass will scan it and alert the policeman if the vehicle has any violations.
