Motorola is at the top of its mobile game. Recently, the company released two new flagship phones that hit all the right spots for business users: the superfast Motorola Droid Turbo and supersized Google Nexus 6.
On the surface, the Droid Turbo and the Nexus 6 are very similar devices. Both run on Android and offer best-in-class performance. Both are also packed with features that make using your mobile phone fun and productive.
But how does the Droid Turbo compare to the Nexus 6? Read on to find out which device is right for your business.
Size
If you want a bigger screen, go for the Nexus 6. Both devices feature a stunning, 2,560 x 1,440-pixel Super AMOLED HD display, but the Nexus 6 sports a massive, 5.9-inch (15 centimeters) screen. For comparison, the Nexus 6 is bigger than Apple's 5.5-inch (14 cm) iPhone 6 Plus and Samsung's 5.5-inch Galaxy Note 4.
The Droid Turbo, on the other hand, has a significantly smaller, 5.2-inch (13.2 cm) display. Nonetheless, it still offers plenty of screen real estate for checking your email, browsing the Web and working on documents, spreadsheets and other business apps — without the bulk of the Nexus 6.
Operating system
Both the Droid Turbo and the Nexus 6 run on the Android operating system, but if you want the latest and the greatest Android has to offer, go for the Nexus 6.
As Google products, Nexus devices are always the first to get the latest Android updates. Out of the box, the Nexus 6 ships with Android 5.0 Lollipop, the newest version of Android.
Droid Turbo, however, is stuck with last year's Android 4.4 KitKat. Without Lollipop, you're missing out on new features like better security, enhanced notification systems, and Google's new "material design" enhancements that aim to make the user experience more fluid and intuitive. Lollipop will eventually come to Droid Turbo, if you're willing to wait, though there have yet to be any announcements on a release date.
Battery life
There's no doubt that the Droid Turbo and Nexus 6 are both powerful devices. The two are equipped with superfast quad-core 2.7 GHz Snapdragon 805 processors for unbridled productivity that won't slow you down, even with the most demanding business apps. But you'll need serious battery life to back up all that performance. And this is where the Droid Turbo trumps the Nexus 6.
The Droid Turbo comes with a colossal 3,900mAh battery that gives you up to 48 hours of battery life. In comparison, the Nexus 6 comes with a 3,220mAh battery for only half the battery life, at 24 hours.
Anytime you're running low, both devices come with the lightning fast Motorola Turbo Charger, which can give you eight hours of juice on the Droid Turbo and six hours on the Nexus 6 in just 15 minutes.
