Sony Xperia Z3

The Sony Xperia Z3 has a smaller battery than the Xperia Z2, but even though the battery size has gone from 3200mAh to 3100mAh, no one is going to complain about the battery life. In our own review we noticed that the Xperia Z3 didn't suffer in any performance tests, but still delivered amazing battery life. Tests showed a battery life of 13 hours, 27 minutes in a video loop test, without using any of the company's battery saving features.
Most users should get at least one-and-a-half days of use from the battery with reasonably heavy usage, on a single charge. That's a pretty vague thing to say though, so we decided to quantify it.

So what could a user do using the Sony Xperia Z3, in one charge?

If you're a fan of the classics, that means loading up all three Lord of the Rings movies' special editions, and watching them back to back. That's more than Tolkien one person should watch at a stretch, but you could actually take breaks between each movie, and watch an episode of South Park as a palate cleanser between each film.

That's because, according to IMDB, 2001's Fellowship of the Rings lasts for 208 minutes, while its sequel, 2002's The Two Towers runs for 223 minutes. The third movie, which released in 2003, was The Return of the King, and it lasts a jaw dropping 251 minutes. All that just adds up to 11 hours and 21 minutes - in other words two hours less than the battery life of the Xperia Z3!

You could watch half hour episodes of your favourite shows to bookend the whole experience, or if you'd like to stay in character, you could follow up the Lord of the Rings with the first Hobbit movie - An Unexpected Journey. That film has a three hour (182 minute) run time for the extended edition, so you'll finally need to plug in a charger, right at the end of the movie marathon.
