Micromax's Yu Yureka smartphone to go on sale again on Jan 22

Home grown manufacturer, Micromax is all set to hold a second flash sale for its much-popular Yu Yureka smartphone via online retail store, Amazon India on January 22. The last sale, although successful, was marred by controversy, leaving a major chunk of customers frustrated, even angry at how badly Micromax and Amazon had conducted the sale.
Registrations are now open for the second round and Yu Yureka smartphones will be up for grabs on January 22 at a price tag Rs 8,999. Both Micromax and Amazon have not confirmed the exact number of units that will go on sale on the said date.
Unlike Xiaomi, whom Micromax has tried to copy with respect to sales procedure, the first flash sale of Yu Yureka did not go as planned for the company.
The first round of sale on January 13 saw several glitches as Amazon India servers just couldn't cope well enough with the huge rush. According to Amazon, around 3 lakh people had registered for the sale. Sadly, only 10,000 units of the Yu Yureka were available for grabs.
Micromax then came out and made an official statement that it sold out all 10,000 units of the device in only 3 seconds, leaving bystanders both awed and agonized. The Micromax bubble was soon busted when on-lookers claimed that the Amazon website was down for nearly an hour since the time the sale commenced.
One blogger even went on to claim that the company actually put only 3,000 units of Yureka on sale and that the sale was closed even before all units were sold.
To add to their woes, many consumers were shown the final price of the Micromax Yu Yureka as Rs 12,999 instead of the actual price, that is, Rs 8,999. Amazon later apologized for the glitch.
