Xbox One is getting a 1TB edition according to retail leak

A new edition of the Xbox One may be on the way soon, if Spanish retailer Lamee is to be believed.

The product above recently appeared on the retailer’s website, only to be taken down shortly after. The site called it the Xbox One Basic and had it sporting a 1 terabyte hard drive.

If the product is real, the June 23 release date is just a week after E3, hitting the same day as Batman: Arkham Knight. We have seen a 1TB Xbox One before in the form of the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare themed Xbox One that came out last fall, but it obviously never made the jump to a general release product – it would definitely make a good addition to the Xbox One family. The standalone Xbox One is, for all intents and purposes, a $349 system right now, as sales drop off anytime Microsoft dares raise it back to the $399 price point. A bigger hard drive would allow them to bump the system up in price while offering the consumer a little something extra.

Considering this was something that came out of a retail website and not a game forum, it seems likely that this is a legitimate product. It’s very likely we could see it announced officially at Microsoft’s E3 presentation on June 14.
