OnePlus Two release date: Device finally arriving this Monday?

The long wait for the highly awaited OnePlus Two could come in a couple of days with reports that the device is set to debut this coming Monday, June 22, 2015.

Carl Pei did mention earlier that the OnePlus Two is expected by Q2 or Q3 at the latest so the rumored release on Monday should be as scheduled.

Pei did mention before that they had to change the release window 4 or 5 times though all that still fell in the period he relayed.

But like the OnePlus One, folks who intend to get one may have to look hard to get a unit. This comes after Pei revealed that they will be using an invitation-only system as far as releasing the OnePlus Two.

The reason behind the invitation-only system is that the company wants to maintain razor-thin margins while at the same time delivering as much value to their customers. With the invitation-only system, the company can manage such risks.

Overheating Issue Fixed
One thing that some people are concerned about is the celebrated overheating issue tied up with the phone's processor. The OnePlus Two will make use of a Snapdragon 810.

Thanks to the joint efforts of Qualcomm and OnePlus, the whole issue has reportedly been resolved. Both groups sat down and worked on an improved version of the chipset (v2.1), assuring would-be customers of a worry-free device this Monday.

As to how they resolved the overheating issue, a layer of thermal gel and graphite were placed on different parts of the phone while providing added ventilation for the CPU processors to resolve the said issue.

With all that resolved, eventual users can look forward to better performance from the phone as far as taking photos, videos and gaming is concerned.

As for the other specs thus far, the OnePlus Two will sport a 5.5-inch display, 4GB of RAM and a 3300 mAh battery. The device is expected to run on the company's own Oxygen OS.

With regards to pricing, the rumored retail selling price is said to be around $363 for the 16GB version.
