Google Nexus 5X price slashed: Worth buying at Rs 25,000?

: The prices of Google's new Nexus 5X smartphone dropped recently on e-commerce websites in India by approximately Rs 7,000, a huge drop over its launch price of Rs 31,999.
With Nexus 5X available at less than Rs 25,000 now, is it finally a smartphone you should consider buying? We look at the pros and cons of buying it and how it stacks up against the rivals...
Google Nexus 5X full specs
Pros
Excellent camera
The 12.3MP rear camera is among the highlights of Nexus 5X. During our review, we found it to be among the best smartphone cameras we have seen recently, delivering sharp and detailed images under most conditions.
Compact and lightweight design
At 136 grams, Google Nexus 5X is a very light smartphone to hold in the hand. The thickness of 7.9mm also makes it thin enough to slip in your pocket without any qualms.
Android Marshmallow
Android Marshmallow was released over a month ago, but it is not available on most smartphones at present. If you are looking for the latest version of Android, then Nexus 5X is the perfect device for you.
High-end processor
Nexus 5X packs the hexa-core Snapdragon 808 (quad-core 1.44GHz + dual-core 1.8GHz) under the hood, a high-end chipset that ensures the smartphone keeps running smoothly.
Fingerprint sensor
Nexus 5X comes with the Nexus Imprint fingerprint scanner on the back, a superfast biometric scanner that not only unlocks the device but can also be used to authenticate payments in Google Play Store.
Cons
Just 16GB of storage
The Nexus 5X variant available for Rs 25,000 comes with 16GB built-in storage and no provision for storage expansion. Of the 16GB available storage, users get approximately 12GB to store their data. This may prove insufficient for those who want to store a lot of music, videos and photos on the device.
Less RAM than rivals
Google Nexus 5X has 2GB of RAM, which is sufficient for most apps and games nowadays, but pales in comparison to the 4 gigs of RAM that OnePlus 2 and Asus Zenfone 2 pack. Even the Lenovo Vibe Shot and last year's Nexus 6 have 3GB of RAM.
Plastic build
Nexus 5X is a compact and lightweight smartphone, but it has an all-plastic body, which looks quite plain when compared to the likes of OnePlus 2 and Lenovo Vibe Shot. Even the Asus Zenfone 2 Deluxe, which also has a plastic body, sports an eye-catching design.
Only USB Type C cables in the box
LG, which manufactures Nexus 5X for Google, comes with a cable having USB Type C connector on both ends. This means that you will not be able to transfer data from the handset to the computer unless you have a Chromebook Pixel or Apple Macbook. If you want to transfer data, you will have to invest Rs 909.99 in a cable.

What  I think
Google Nexus 5X has certainly become an attractive buy after the price drop, but it is still not the most powerful smartphone in its segment. However, it is still a good option and perfect for Android purists as well as those who want to upgrade from Nexus 5.
