Moto X Pure 2015 and Moto X (2nd Gen) To Receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update

Motorola announced a few days ago that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will be released for the Moto X Pure 2015 and Moto X (2nd gen) smartphones.

We remind you that the Moto X Pure is also known as Moto X Style in the US, which means that this device will receive the update as well. The same website confirmed that the Moto X Style owners from the US should expect this update soon, as there are rumors saying that it will be released before the end of November.

On the other hand, India and Brazil already started receiving the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update for both Moto X 2015 models. Brazil has also started to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the Moto X (2nd gen).

Motorola’s David Schuster confirmed that most of the changes and features that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes with are: Google Now on Tap, Automatic app/data backup, Do-Not-Disturb Mode, Volume Control, Doze for improved battery life, Permission Controls for Applications, Memory Manager and more.

According to IBTimes, the following devices from Motorola are expected to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update soon: Droid Turbo, Moto Maxx, Moto Turbo, Moto G 4G LTE (2nd gen) and Moto G (2nd gen). Unfortunately, the Moto E device might not receive the update, probably because the device doesn’t have sufficient internal storage for installing the latest Android OS version.

In the upcoming weeks we will see more and more devices receiving the Android 6.0 Marshmallow. There are rumors which say that a good part of the devices (owned by diverse manufacturers) will receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow sometime before the end of 2015 or Q1 2016.
