SUPER MARIO MAKER BECOMES NINTENDO'S LATEST MILLION SELLER

Nintendo revealed during the month of December, Super Mario Maker reached over 1 million units sold in the U.S.

That makes it the sixth Wii U game to reach the milestone in the console's lifespan. The other games to have crossed the million-mark are Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Super Mario 3D World, New Super Mario Bros. U, and Splatoon. Those figures are from the NPD Group and only account for sales in the US.

Interestingly, or perhaps sadly, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD is not on the list of Wii U million-sellers in the U.S., in spite of having been a pack-in title included in a limited edition console on top being sold as a stand-alone game. Zelda fans should probably be a little heartbroken by this news, but the next big Zelda release, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD, is due out March 3 of this year.

The original, Wii version of Twilight Princess is the second highest-selling Zelda game of all time, falling behind Ocarina of Time but beating out the original on NES
