How to view AirPods battery percentage from your Apple Watch

Apple Watch is increasingly becoming independent of the iPhone. With Series 3, Apple added support for LTE which allowed users to use Apple Watch without needing your iPhone nearby. One feature of Apple’s wireless AirPods earbuds is that they work really well with Apple products thanks to the W1 chip. But one hidden feature when using AirPods with Apple Watch is being able to see AirPods battery life. How to view AirPods battery percentage from your Apple Watch

Make sure AirPods is connected to Apple Watch. To check this, swipe up to get Control Center, and the AirPlay icon should be blue. Tap on it and AirPods should be highlighted, indicated they are currently connected to Apple Watch.
Now, swipe up on the Control Center, find the battery percentage icon. Tap that. You’ll know see the bottom third of the screen read out your current AirPods battery life. If your L/R AirPods are at different levels, you can use the crown to scroll down for the battery life.Tip: If your AirPods are in the case and you open the case, Apple Watch will show the charge level of the AirPods case, as well. This trick also works for any Bluetooth-enabled headphones that support battery percentage.

Apple Watch launched (unsurprisingly) without a headphone jack and has relied on Bluetooth as its main method of portable audio.
