When LG and Sony launched the first 84-inch UHD 4K TVs in December of 2012, they were priced at an eye popping $25,000. In March of 2013, Samsung countered with its 85-inch UN85S9 UHD 4K TV priced at $40,000. Next month (according to our source), Samsung will be offering its latest 85-inch large screen UHD 4K TV for $9999.
Designated the UN85HU8550, this 85-inch flat screen UHD 4K TV is loaded with Samsung’s 2014 features including Local Dimming , Quad Core Processor, Voice Command, LED Edge Lighting and more.
Its closest 2014 competitors are the 2014 LG LG 84UB9800 for $15,000 and the Sony XBR85X950B selling for $25,000
