The Motorola Droid Turbo received the Android 5.1 Lollipop software update in early July but users are complaining various problems after downloading the new operating system.
In October 2014, Motorola released the Droid Turbo, which came running on the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system straight out of the box. The handset maker skipped Android 5.0 Lollipop software update and announced that the smartphone will receive Android 5.1 Lollipop instead.
After months of waiting the Droid Turbo received the much-awaited Android 5.1 Lollipop software update, which brings along a number of new features to the phone. However, after downloading the update users are complaining of battery problems, turbo charging speed and slow data speeds.
"My battery life has been awful since the update. If I unplug at 8 am with 100 percent I have been at 40-35 percent at 2 pm with only 1.5-2 hours on screen time," complained a user on XDA Developers forum.
"It seems that turbo charging turns off at 50 percent battery, previously I think It was around 70 percent," per another user on XDA Developers forum.
The Motorola Droid Turbo packs in impressive features that can impress many smartphone users even today. The handset sports a 5.2-inch AMOLED display with 1,440 x 2,560 pixels resolution and 565ppi.
A quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor clocked at 2.7GHz powers the Droid Turbo. The handset comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. Unfortunately, Verizon Droid Turbo users cannot increase the storage capacity with the help of a microSD card.
The Motorola smartphone comes with a massive 3,900mAh battery that offers up to 28 days of standby time and up to 48 hours of usage time. The Droid Turbo has a 20.7MP primary snapper that is not available in some of the top-end phones. The handset also comes with a 2MP front-facing camera.
Verizon is selling the Droid Turbo for $499.99 off contract and for $99.99 on a two-year contract. The carrier is also offering the handset under the Verizon Edge program where customers have to pay $20.83 monthly for 24 months.
Customers have now also got the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop. While many customers are reporting of issues many are happy with the software update. Let us know if you are facing any issues on your Motorola Droid Turbo after upgrading to Android 5.1 Lollipop.
