Last month, Motorola had reportedly said that it would launch the new Moto X series in September. But the company had refused to reveal whether the device will be the Play or the Style series. Meanwhile, sources in the company have revealed more information about the models.
RTN Asia citing a Motorola official has confirmed that the company will release the Moto X Play (32GB) for around Rs 25,000. Like all Moto series phones, Motorola will be retailing Moto X Play via Flipkart in India.
For the uninitiated, Moto X Play is a mid-range phone, but boasts of a 3,630 mAh high-capacity battery with enough juice to run the phone for close to 48 hours under mixed usage.
Moto X Play houses the company's proprietary Motorola Mobile Computing System with natural language processor and contextual computing processor. It will be powered by a 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 Octa-core chipset.
The website also claims that Motorola has plans to release its top-end model, Moto X Style, in India. However, there is no information on the specific launch time-line and price details. There is a slight possibility of the company launching both the devices in mid-September.
Moto X Style was originally unveiled along with Moto X Play in July. It sports a 5.7-inch QHD (2560x1440p) display and runs on the latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS backed by 3GB RAM, 16GB/32GB/64GB internal storage and a 3,000 mAh battery. It comes packed with Motorola's custom mobile computing system integrated with a 1.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 (Hexa-core) CPU (MSM8992), natural language processor, and contextual computing processor.
