Motorola Moto X Force with shatterproof screen coming to India in November

Just an odd couple of days after launching the flagship Droid Turbo 2 in the US, Motorola Mobility has announced that the phone will be available as the Moto X Force in international markets, including India. Also, the new Moto X Force -- which is essentially the Droid Turbo 2 sans the Verizon logo and its accompanying bloatware -- will be available internationally starting from November.

The Moto X Force is coming to Africa, the Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America starting in November, the company has announced. Motorola Mobility India was unavailable for a comment on this immediately. Having said that, a November launch is a safe bet as the Moto Maxx (the international variant of the Droid Turbo) was also launched during the same timeframe last year.

Motorola's Moto X Force will come with a shatterproof screen -- which is the main USP of the phone -- that will not crack or break with ease, according to the company. Motorola calls it the ShatterShield.

The Droid Turbo 2 comes with a four year warranty in the US should you shatter or crack it. Whether or not it will get the same treatment elsewhere, including India is yet to be seen.

The phone is also resistant to accidental spillage or rain thanks to a protective nano-coating. It is however not water-proof.

The Moto X Force will come with a 5.4-inch QuadHD display with a 2560x1440 pixels resolution and 544 pixels per inch. It will be powered by a 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. The phone supports up to 2TB of expandable memory via microSD card.

It will sport a 21-megapixel camera on the rear and a 5-megapixel camera on the front. The 4G LTE capable handset will run almost stock Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and will be upgradable to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

The Moto X Force will use a 3,760mAh battery and ship with a TurboCharger that can provide up to 13 hours of battery life in just 15 minutes of charging, according to the company.

If you haven't guessed already, the Moto X Force is simply the Moto X Style on steroids.

The Droid Turbo 2 has been priced at $624 for the base 32GB variant, while the 64GB variant of the phone costs $720.
