iPhone 5S vs. iPhone 5C – Difference between Two iPhones

Apple released the new iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C in a very short time difference.

Both these new smartphones from Apple come in a plethora of shades. Apart from that, the major difference between the two is the casing. The iPhone 5S is built of aluminium casing in comparison to the plastic casing of the iPhone 5C. In addition, the iPhone 5S comes with an array of features that are surprisingly absent from the latest iPhone 5C. Apple iPhone 5S comes with a fingerprint scanner and a superior camera than the iPhone 5C.

One reason can be that iPhone 5S is the flagship smartphone of the company. Apple must have kept the iPhone 5S different from its other variants.

Colors

This is the first time that the iPhone smartphones were released in color options other than white and black. The iPhone 5C is available in white, blue, pink, yellow and green color options. These vibrant colors offer the device a chic look.

The iPhone 5S comes in space gray, silver and gold color options. Overall, there are approximately eight color options available in the latest iPhone ranges. It is down to personal preference, which color you choose for yourself.

Design, Build Quality and Weight

The iPhone 5S is constructed out of aluminium and glass in comparison to the polycarbonate plastic body of the iPhone 5C. However, despite being crafted out of a single piece of plastic, the iPhone 5C offers firm grip, when held in hand. The 5C smartphone comes with round edges that provide a comfortable grip in the hand.

The plastic coating sounds more scratch resistant in comparison to the aluminium and glass body of the 5S.

The iPhone 5S weighs approximately 112 grams in comparison to the 132 grams weight of the iPhone 5C.

Processor

The iPhone 5C comes with an A6 chipset, similar to that of the iPhone 5 smartphone. However, the iPhone 5S comes with a smarter chipset, the A7 64-bit processor. The latter offers a smoother functioning of the smartphone. However, functionality was never a problem with the Apple products.

Storage

The iPhone 5S comes in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB variants in comparison to the 16GB and 32GB variants of the iPhone 5C smartphone.

Features

A number of features are available in the iPhone 5S smartphone only. The most apparent is the Touch ID fingerprint scanner, incorporated in the smartphones Home button.

The iPhone 5S comes with a plethora of other features such as the M7 motion coprocessor, True Tone Flash, f/2.2 aperture, Slo-Mo video, Burst mode and Enhanced Image Stabilization. However, these features would be available on the iPhone 5S only.

The iPhone 5C would be a nice choice with loads of colors. The iPhone 5S is expensive but comes with more features than any other variant in the Apple series.
