HTC delays Marshmallow update for One M8 Google Play Edition

HTC has delayed its Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the One M8 Google Play Edition. The company originally promised that it would be rolled out in October, but it appears to have run into some issues that are holding it up.

“We’ve come across a slight delay and required to re-spin [the software update],” tweeted HTC VP of Product Management, Mo Versi — who was first to tell us almost a month ago that Marshmallow would be reaching the One M8 GPE in October.

Versi did not say why the update has been held up, and right now, there’s no indication when it will be available — but we should hear more relatively soon. “I am expecting TA within next few days and will keep you posted,” Versi’s tweet continued.

This is obviously disappointing news if you’re a One M8 GPE owner, but HTC shouldn’t keep you waiting too much longer now. You will almost certainly be running Marshmallow before the vast majority of Android smartphone users, that’s for sure.
