Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is set to reveal something 'jaw-dropping' on June 30 for its Mi India fans. Chances are it's going to do something around its Note offering, which one exactly is yet to be seen.
The company has taken to its official Mi India Twitter handle to tease that "It's Note-worthy to stay tuned tomorrow for a jaw-dropping catch." The company has left the rest of the deal to the imagination of fans.
The company is yet to bring its high-end Mi Note Pro phablet to India and it's highly unlikely that Xiaomi will be bringing it to India on Tuesday. Further, there are rumors that the company may launch the next generation Redmi Note phablet (the Redmi Note 2 probably) soon. Even this seems highly unlikely on the said date.
The company is not holding any launch event on June 30, therefore those expecting the Mi Note Pro or the Redmi Note 2 launching on Tuesday could be disappointed, unless of course the company decides to surprise us with something out of the blue.
So, what is Xiaomi teasing its Mi India fans about? We have our bets firmly placed on the fact that the company may drop the price of its existing Redmi Note phablet in India. The Redmi Note 4G is priced in India at Rs.9,999, a price point that is buzzing with activity.
Of all the smartphones launched in India at this price point, the Lenovo K3 Note seems to be the most promising deals. Buyers in India have given unprecedented response to Lenovo's budget 4G offerings, in the A6000, the A6000 Plus and the A7000. Looking at the K3 Note's spec sheet, it's safe to say that this one has potential as well.
Xiaomi deciding to lower the price of its popular Redmi Note 4G makes sense, since of all its devices, this one has been around for a longer period. The company recently lowered the price of its Mi 4 smartphone (16GB and 64GB), therefore a price drop for the Redmi Note 4G does not seem all that surprising, considering that the competition is getting stiffer.
