NEW DELHI: Motorola has sent out media invites in India for an event on September 5 in New Delhi. The company is also holding an event on September 4 in the US, just a day after Samsung introduces its Galaxy Note 4 phablet.
It is widely expected that the company will launch the successors of Moto X and Moto G smartphones as well as Moto 360 smartwatch at the event in New Delhi.
Interestingly, Flipkart has announced that it will stop selling the 16GB Moto G in India after the current stocks run out. The smartphone was launched at Rs 13,999 in the country, but its price has since come down to Rs 11,999. It is facing tough competition from Xiaomi Mi 3 and Asus ZenFone 5 in this range.
Moto G will pass on the baton to its rumoured successor Moto G2, which has an 8MP camera and 5-inch HD screen, while the remaining features remain the same.
According to previous leaks, Moto X+1 will have a 5.2-inch Full HD display, 2.26GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, Adreno 330 graphics and 2GB RAM. The phone will allegedly feature 32GB internal storage, 12MP rear camera and 2MP front camera.
Moto 360 smartwatch, which has been teased several times by Motorola and Google, sports a 1.5-inch backlit LCD display with 320x290p resolution and come with a stainless steel case, plastic case back, leather band and metal buckle. This Android Wear smartwatch is said to be powered by a Li-ion battery, run on a Texas Instruments processor and compatible with all devices running on Android 4.3 and above.
Samsung and LG have already launched their respective Android Wear smartwatches in the Indian market, priced at Rs 15,900 and Rs 14,999, respectively.
