PSA: Don’t forget to Grab Your 50GB Google Drive Storage on the HTC One Remix/One Mini 2

Right now, we are knee deep in our review of the HTC One Remix on Verizon. Which is essentially the exact same device as the HTC One Mini 2 which is available elsewhere in the world. And we just happened to jump into the Google Drive app and what do ya know, 50GB of Google Drive space up for grabs on these HTC devices as well. Which is pretty neat for HTC to offer up on their mid-range stuff as well. Now if you’ve bought a HTC One M8, and claimed the storage on a M8, you won’t be able to claim it on the One Remix or the One Mini 2, unfortunately.

To redeem your 50GB of storage, simply open up the Google Drive app and you’ll be greeted with a screen to redeem the offer, after you’ve gone through the intro screen showing you everything you can do in the Google Drive app. Just hit the redeem button and within about 5-10 minutes you should see the change in your account to 65GB of space. It’s just that easy. And the storage should be good for about 2 years. If you have over 15GB of stuff in Google Drive when it expires, you’ll be unable to add anything else unless you upgrade, or delete some stuff.

With the HTC One Remix giving you 50GB of storage, you’ll have about 65GB of storage total on your Google account. Now this includes storage for pictures, and Gmail. So if you save a lot of email, this will be a huge help to you. Remember that Google Docs, do not actually count towards your quota. It’s mostly just pictures, emails and anything you upload to Google Drive. And 65GB of space is plenty for that.
