There's good news for Apple lovers in India. The tech major will begin selling the iPhone X, its tenth anniversary edition of the iPhone, in India at a starting price of Rs 89,000 for the 64 GB variant, from November 3. The India sale kicks off along with China and the US. The 256 GB variant will however be priced at a whopping Rs 1.02 lakh.
Apple distributor Brightstar will begin taking pre-orders of the iPhone X from October 27, while those for iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will begin from September 22 across various authorised stores in North and East India, the company said Wednesday.
The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will be available for purchase from September 29 onwards at prices of Rs 64,000 and Rs 73,000, respectively, for the 64 GB storage variant. The 256 GB variants of both will be priced at Rs 77,000 and Rs 86,000, respectively.
These models, unlike the iPhone X, will be made available in the second wave after the US and China, where pre-orders and sales begin a week early. The iPhone X, available in sliver and space grey colours, has an all-glass design, including an all glass back, with a 5.8-inch super retina display, the latest A11 Bionic chip which Apple has made in-house, besides new features like wireless charging, an improved rear camera with dual optical image stabilization and most importantly Face ID which will allow users to open up the phone and make payments through Apple Pay, by just looking at the phone. This feature, Apple said, has been enabled by its new TrueDepth camera.
The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus models will be upgrades from the iPhone 7 series launched last year, which will feature glass and aluminium design in space grey, silver and a new gold colours. The models will have retina HD 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch displays, respectively and wireless charging.
iPhone 8 Plus features dual 12-megapixel cameras and introduces portrait mode with portrait lighting, bringing dramatic studio lighting effects to iPhone, allowing customers to capture stunning portraits with a shallow depth of field effect in five different lighting styles.
Indian consumers will also be able to purchase the GPS version of the Apple Watch Series 3 for Rs 29,900, however it is not known when it will be available in India. Apple has also neither yet mentioned when the cellular version which supports calls will be made available in Indian markets nor declared its price.
The Apple TV 4K has been priced at Rs 15,900 for 32 GB and Rs 17,900 for 64 GB, but there is. no word on the India availability yet.
