Sony lists phones that will soon get Android 8.0 Oreo

Sony has launched the long-rumoured new Xperia phones- Xperia XZ1, XZ1 Compact and Xperia XA1 Plus today at a pre-IFA event. But this not the only thing coming form the company. It has now also listed the Sony phones that will get Google's brand new Android 8.0 Oreo update soon.All phones in the list belong to the Xperia series.

Please note that software update is a phased process and therefore the timing and availability will vary with market and operator. The Sony phones that are eligible for the Android Oreo update for now are- Xperia X, Xperia X Performance, Xperia XZ, Xperia X Compact, Xperia XZ Premium, Xperia XZs, Xperia XA1, Xperia XA1 Ultra, Xperia Touch and Xperia XA1 Plus.

Sony today launched the Xperia XZ1, XZ1 Compact and Xperia XA1 Plus. While the Xperia XZ1 and XZ1 Compact have been launched on Android Oreo only, the mid-ranger XA1 Plus will be receiving the update in coming time.

The company has also updated it global page, confirming every feature of the three new Xperia phones.The Xperia XZ1 will be sold in four colour options including Moonlit Blue, Black, Warm Silver and Venus Pink. The phone will come with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage that's expandable up to 256 GB via microSD card. The dual SIM phone is powered Qualcomm Snapdragon 835. The phone sports a 5.2-inch FHD HDR display and comes with 4G VoLTE support. There is a 19MP rear camera and 13MP front camera. The phone is backed by a 2700mAh battery.

The XZ1 Compact can be called as Xperia XZ1 only with a smaller screen. the phone sports a 4.6-inch HD Display and is also powered by Snapdragon 835. Both the phones come with IP68 rating. The XA1 Plus is a mid range offering from Sony that runs on Android Nougat. The battery size is 3430mAh and phone comes with 23MP rear and 8MP front camera. The colour options are Gold, Blue and Black.
