After the launch of the BlackBerry Key2 in India, we can look forward to more devices from the company on the 2nd of August. The smartphone manufacturer has already started sending media invites for a launch event that is going to be held in India and the devices named Evolve and the Evolve X might be getting unveiled at this event. To provide you with a little reminder, the BlackBerry Ghost was expected to arrive in India, but its official name could be Evolve at this event.
BlackBerry Evolve, Evolve X: Launch Details
BlackBerry’s Indian licensee, Optiemus is expected to host this event, launching new products for the Indian market in the process. The firm is busy issuing press invites for the new product launch which is going to start at 11 AM on the 2nd of August. The BlackBerry-branded smartphones that we can expect to launch at this event at the Evolve and the Evolve X. Whatever we know about the specifications and features of both these devices so far have been detailed below
The BlackBerry Evolve could be the smartphone codenamed ‘Ghost’ that we have heard about for quite a while now. The important hardware specifications of the smartphone are unknown at this stage but there is a chance that the smartphone sports a Snapdragon 660. This will be the same chipset present in the Key2, with the main difference here is that instead of a physical keyboard layout, you will be getting a smartphone featuring an ‘all screen’ design.
This means that the BlackBerry Evolve might feature an 18:9 aspect ratio, resulting in a taller display and slimmer bezels. The screen size of the Evolve has not been leaked though we should have some interesting details for you during the official launch event, which will also include the resolution. The main highlight of the smartphone is going to be its large 4000mAh battery.
Sporting a Snapdragon chipset can also mean the device will provide support Quick Charge technology, topping up the battery in little to no time while the phone is plugged in. The 4000mAh capacity also means that buyers who start using the device frequently should see themselves experiencing a high ‘screen on’ time for at least a couple of years.
The BlackBerry Evolve is also expected to come with a dual-camera setup at the back, improving low-light photography as a result. We might also see 4GB of RAM in the smartphone, with more memory in the Evolve X variant.
BlackBerry Evolve X: Specifications, Features
The BlackBerry Evolve X could be the ‘Ghost Pro’ and feature slightly better specifications than the Evolve. The thing which is to be similar to both smartphones when it comes to specifications is that 4000mAh battery. Otherwise, we can expect 6GB of RAM in the Evolve X, which will give users more multitasking options than having 4GB of RAM in smartphones.
This model could also have a taller display and slimmer bezels, leading to an 18:9 aspect ratio just like the BlackBerry Evolve. We might also see a dual-camera setup at the rear and a single front-facing shooter on the Evolve X. Instead of a Snapdragon 660, The BlackBerry Evolve X feature the 10nm Snapdragon 710, which is a chipset that will be able to deliver more performance while consuming less power in return. Keep in mind that these specifications are mere speculations at this stage and can change once the official launch of both smartphones has concluded.
If you wanted BlackBerry devices that would not be accompanied with physical keyboards and would flaunt an all-screen handset, perhaps the Evolve and the Evolve X are the smartphones you should buy once they officially go on sale in India.
